Description

Introduction

The Navigator Work & Personal Development Programme for Men gives participants the space, structure and support to step back, reflect and move forward with greater clarity, confidence and intention.

Delivered through a series of facilitated workshops, the programme helps men explore where they are now, what matters to them, and how they want to approach the next stage of their work and personal lives. It brings together practical tools, guided reflection and group discussion to help participants better understand themselves, their priorities, their strengths and the choices available to them.

Navigator is designed for men at different stages of life and work. Some may be thinking about career direction, progression or new responsibilities. Others may simply value the opportunity to pause, reflect and consider what they want from the future, both professionally and personally.

The programme recognises that personal development is rarely just about work. Confidence, communication, wellbeing, relationships, motivation and purpose are all connected. Navigator helps participants explore these areas in a practical, grounded and supportive way.

Programme Overview

Navigator blends personal reflection with practical development, helping participants gain insight into themselves, their choices and the way they approach work and life.

Delivered through interactive workshops and facilitated group discussion, the programme creates a supportive environment where participants can explore ideas, share experiences and learn from one another. For many, this shared experience becomes one of the most valuable parts of the programme, providing time and space for conversations that may not happen in everyday working life.

Throughout the programme, participants explore themes including:

  • Understanding personal values and priorities

  • Recognising strengths, achievements and potential

  • Building confidence through clarity and self-awareness

  • Communicating more effectively with others

  • Developing emotional intelligence and personal impact

  • Maintaining motivation, energy and resilience

  • Navigating change, pressure and transition

  • Exploring purpose, direction and what success means personally

  • Creating intentional habits that support work and life

  • Setting meaningful goals and taking realistic action

  • Sustaining personal growth beyond the programme

By combining reflection, practical tools and peer learning, Navigator helps participants turn insight into action they can apply in everyday life, work, relationships and future planning.

Programme Suitability

Navigator is designed for men who want to better understand themselves, their priorities and their next steps in work and life.

It is suitable for participants at any stage of their career, regardless of role, sector or level of experience. While the programme can support leadership development and career progression, it is equally relevant for those in non-management roles, those earlier in their journey, and those who may not usually have access to this kind of personal development.

Some participants join Navigator with clear goals, such as improving confidence, strengthening communication, considering career direction or preparing for future opportunities. Others may be looking for space to reflect, regain focus, manage change or think more intentionally about what they want next.

Because the programme connects work and life experiences, participants often find the learning relevant across a wide range of situations. This might include managing pressure, improving relationships, making decisions, balancing responsibilities, building resilience or feeling more confident about the direction they are taking.

Navigator provides a structured yet personal approach, allowing each participant to engage with the themes most relevant to their own experiences while benefiting from the shared perspectives of the wider group.

Programme Outcomes

Participants often describe Navigator as a development experience that gives them time to think properly, understand themselves more clearly and take practical steps forward.

As the programme progresses, many begin to notice meaningful shifts in how they view themselves, how they communicate, and how they approach choices, challenges and opportunities.

Participants may leave the programme with:

  • Greater clarity about personal values, priorities and future direction

  • Increased confidence in how they communicate, contribute and make decisions

  • Stronger self-awareness and recognition of personal strengths and achievements

  • Practical tools for reflection, planning, goal setting and navigating change

  • Greater confidence to pursue opportunities, take on new responsibilities or shape their career direction

  • Improved ability to manage competing demands, pressure and personal wellbeing

  • A clearer understanding of what motivates them and how they want to apply their energy

  • Stronger emotional intelligence and awareness of personal impact

  • A more intentional approach to work, relationships, habits and personal growth

  • Supportive peer connections and shared learning through facilitated discussion

Navigator supports participants to make sense of where they are now, explore what matters to them, and take realistic action towards the work and life they want to build.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does the programme last?

The online programme is broken up into eight half-day workshops and a one-hour Meet and greet session before the programme starts.

  • What training Materials will I receive?

Each participant who joins the programme, will automatically receive a hardy copy of the Navigator Journal. This is a supplementary resource that you will use throughout the programme, to complete workshop activities and facilitates continued self-reflection.

If you require a digital version of the journal to support your accessibility to the programme resource, please contact us no later than 3 weeks prior to the first workshop on: support@instructus.org.

  • What if I cannot attend a workshop?

Attendance to Workshop 1.1 & 1.2 (the first two half-day workshops) is mandatory to continue on the programme. We would recommend attendance to all the workshops for continuity purposes and for the best learning experience. Please contact us at support@instructus.org if you have any questions regarding this.
