Introduction
Our Springboard Work & Personal Development Programme for Women is a structured development programme that provides the space and time for participants to reflect, understand where they are and move forward with greater clarity and intention in both their work and personal lives.
Delivered through a series of facilitated workshops the programme brings together participants to explore key themes and practical tools participants need to step back from the pace of everyday work and consider their priorities, strengths and future direction.
For more than 35 years, Springboard has supported women across the world to develop greater self-awareness, strengthen their communication and influence, and take intentional action in the choices they make about their careers and lives.
Programme Overview
Springboard blends personal reflection with practical development, helping participants gain insight into themselves and the choices they make in both their professional and personal lives.
Delivered through eight interactive workshops and facilitated group discussion, the programme creates a psychologically safe environment where participants can share experiences, explore perspectives and learn from one another – often building strong supportive networks and friendships that last a lifetime.
Throughout the programme, participants explore themes including:
Understanding personal values and priorities
Building confidence through clarity and recognising strengths
Maintaining motivation, energy and resilience
Living and working with intentional habits
Communicating effectively and emotional intelligence
Developing authenticity and personal purpose
Setting meaningful goals and taking action
Navigating change and transition
Increasing self-awareness and personal impact
Sustaining personal growth and development
By combining reflection with practical tools and peer learning, Springboard enables participants to turn insight into realistic and achievable action.
Programme Suitability
Springboard is designed by women for women who are at any stage of their career, regardless of role, sector or level of experience. Although the programme supports leadership progression, it is suited for those earlier in their journey and in non-management roles too, which can be often overlooked for this type of development or training.
Some participants join the programme with clear development goals, such as improving confidence, exploring career direction or strengthening communication skills. Others simply value the opportunity to pause and reflect on their priorities and future direction.
The programme’s structured approach allows each participant to engage with the themes most relevant to their own experiences while benefiting from the shared perspectives of the wider group.
Because the programme connects both work and life experiences, many participants find the learning relevant not only to their professional development but also to broader decisions about balance, wellbeing and personal growth.
Programme Outcomes
Participants frequently describe Springboard as a development experience that stays with them long after the programme has finished. As the programme progresses, many begin to notice meaningful shifts in how they think about themselves, their goals and the way they approach challenges.
Greater clarity about personal values, priorities and future direction.
Increased confidence in communication, enabling participants to contribute ideas and perspectives more openly.
Stronger self-awareness and recognition of personal strengths and achievements. Practical reflection and planning tools that participants continue to use when navigating decisions, opportunities and change.
Greater confidence to pursue opportunities, take on new responsibilities and shape their career direction, leading to greater engagement and career fulfilment.
Improved ability to manage competing demands, mental load and maintain wellbeing in busy working lives and through life stages that include menopause and caregiving responsibilities.
A supportive learning environment where participants can fully explore experiences that may shape their working lives, including how gendered challenges, opportunities and societal expectations impact this.
Development that complements wider organisational learning pathways, including leadership and career progression programmes.
The online programme is broken up into eight half-day workshops and a one-hour Meet and greet session before the programme starts.
Each participant who joins the programme, will automatically receive a hardy copy of the Springboard Journal. This is a supplementary resource that you will use throughout the programme, to complete workshop activities and facilitates continued self-reflection.
If you require a digital version of the journal to support your accessibility to the programme resource, please contact us no later than 3 weeks prior to the first workshop on: support@instructus.org.
Yes. The workshops are designed to be practical and engaging, with space for reflection, discussion and activities. They are not intended to be passive webinars. The aim is to give participants useful insight and tools that can be applied straight away.
Attendance to Workshop 1.1 & 1.2 (the first two half-day workshops) is mandatory to continue on the programme. We would recommend attendance to all the workshops for continuity purposes and for the best learning experience. Please contact us at support@instructus.org if you have any questions regarding this.
